Wine tasting

We went to a couple of Wineries on Monday afternoon, both were excelent the first produced a good range of wines 4 whites and 4 reds 1 rose and 1 sparkling, the quality was faultless on the whole range we tasted and I was impressed that they were using french Oak barrels. They also grow Olives and there was a good range of marinated Olives and flavoured Oils, there standard EV oil was lovely. The view of the valley from the pass blogged earlier shows the Vines and Olives that this Winery farms.
This photogragh is taken from the second winery of the day and has a herd of Springbok in the field next to the tasting barn (double click on the picture to take a closer look) Their wines are much influenced by the Portugese and the Vine varieties were mostly imported from Portugal, They produce a lovely range of rich very fruity reds plus an excelent Port. One was very similar to the wine we had for our wedding called Tinto de Talhia - Yum!
